Job Description


Check Into Cash is a specialty consumer financial services company that was established in 1993. We are seeking a proven Collections leader who is passionate about leading people. The person in this role must have a proven track record of delivering results in Collections & Recoveries through data driven insights that lead to strategic changes. They ensure metrics are achieved and that all Collection activity is conducted in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws. In addition, they will communicate vision and strategic direction while improving processes. You will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will directly manage a team of retail and online collectors in a call center environment. This position is located in our Corporate Office in beautiful Cleveland, TN just outside of Chattanooga! 


  • Leading the Collections department effectively by planning, leading, and prioritizing Collection activities in order to meet or exceed customer expectations and ensure establishment and maintenance of departmental performance level.
  • Developing and managing collections projects to ensure that Check Into Cash is positioned for success with the identification and implementation of effective contemporary collections systems and strategies.
  • Providing escalation support on complex issues between the team and external vendors and customers to enhance department efficiency.
  • Maintaining a thorough knowledge and understanding of company policies and procedures, as well as, state and federal laws.
  • Managing collection activities of all maintenance fees, dues and other miscellaneous receivables for all CIC Online and Retail locations.
  • Hiring, coaching, developing and training team members to ensure professional and quality service is provided to customers, understanding their challenges and circumstances.
  • Developing processes and tools to ensure efficient operation and creating and maintaining appropriate desk manuals.
  • Providing project management leadership for any implementations of new processes and systems.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing a high-volume Collections environment
  • Minimum of 5 years leading large teams in Collections

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with auto collections and repossession strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with city, state, and federal rules and regulations related to collection activities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced Interpersonal communication skills
  • Possess strong influencing and negotiation skills to work with internal and external resources
  • Ability to lead and develop employees
